FRIDAY, APRIL 24

A Collective of Excellence (ACE) Club X: Unity Mixer

7–10:30 p.m. 

ACE Spirit Week Festival is a three-day party that starts today and lasts all weekend! Hop over to Van Dyke Performance Space and dance the night away with DJ performances. Enjoy a photo op with JoySquad, interactive art installations, cocktails, and a bite at Maho’s Food Truck. Sorry kids, this event is 18+. Tickets are $15.

Comedy by Pedro Gonzales

8 p.m.

Join the Idiot Box for this live, one night only comedy special by Gonzales. Tickets are $35.

Murphy Campbell + Paper Wings

Doors open at 7 p.m., music starts at 8 p.m.

Get ready for a night of live banjo music at Flat Iron with Campbell’s folk tunes and harmonies by Paper Wings’ Emily Mann and Wila Frank. Tickets are $15.

Films are still being screened in Winston-Salem theaters through April 25. The last showing of Human Shield is on Saturday at 1:30 p.m.

SATURDAY, APRIL 25

World Tai Chi & Qigong Day

10 a.m.-4:30 p.m.

Hosted by the Marshall Muse Gallery, this free event features movement and art classes, plus meditation and tea. Folks of any experience level and age are welcome.

A Collective of Excellence (ACE) CultureCon

11 a.m.-4 p.m.

Held at the Greensboro Cultural Center, the second day of the ACE Spirit Week Festival is for community-rooted self-development. An interactive leadership development summit, CultureCon gives attendees a glimpse of what it’s like to be part of the ACE community, and is designed to help them reflect, grow, and lead with heart. Korean Festival

11 a.m.-6 p.m.

Held in Center City Park, this event is ticketed: General admission is $10, tickets for seniors are $8, and kids get in for free. There will be traditional music and dance, K-POP performances and dance parties, taekwondo, tons of delicious food, and more.

Earth Day Celebration

12-4 p.m.

Come to Keeley Park for vendors, food trucks, and more! The event will feature workshops, a kid zone, and native plant giveaway.

Autism Awareness Ball

6:30-8:30 p.m.

This is a family-friendly celebration with sensory accommodations hosted by Triad Play at 3223 Yanceyville Street. Dress up and enjoy a night of music and dancing, grab your tickets here.

SUNDAY, APRIL 26

A Collective of Excellence (ACE) COLORS: Music and Arts Day

12–7 p.m.

LeBauer Park will bustle with opportunities for dance, wellness, and movement, as well as vendors and live performances from artists of all ages. Make your own art, play outdoor games, and munch on meals from locally-owned food trucks. Free and family-friendly!

Music and Movement at Back Table

10 a.m.-6 p.m.

Head on over to Back Table for community yoga and coffee at 10 a.m., and stick around for Beats for Peace at 3 p.m., a community fundraiser with local beat makers and a DJ.

Poetry Groove Open Mic hosted by Jim Zola

4-5:30 p.m.

In celebration of National Poetry Month, poets ages 12+ are invited to share their poetry at Hemphill Branch Library.

The Gatekeep Presents: EXHIBIT (e)ncore — Boiler Room Experience

3-8 p.m.The Grand GSO will boom with music from four DJ sets, and fill with vendors, food, and games. This event is open to ages 21+.
